Ia Modin specializes in intellectual property and commercial contract law. She focuses on innovation, industrial collaborations and commercialisation activities.
Ia has significant experience in complex multi-party agreements related to future intellectual property rights, such as R&D contracts for both industry and academia as well as art-, music- and film production agreements. She is an experienced negotiator and clients appreciate her ability to find common ground and creating foundations for long term and trusted collaborations.
Prior to joining private practice Ms Modin worked at Vinnova – the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems where she headed the Agency’s work to monitor and facilitate contracts related to research, with a focus on contracts for collaborative research in consortia and projects.
Ia Modin is an appreciated keynote speaker and panellist on innovation, and a lecturer on contract law and intellectual property law. She has been teaching at Stockholm University, at the Master Programme of Intellectual Property Law as well as at the International Master Programme in Curating Art for which she was also a board member of the Consultancy Committee.
